Emerald City Confidential Review - "Outstanding! Playfirst's first adventure game, Emerald City Confidential, is absolutely stunning and definitely one of the top games of 2009. Visit Oz forty years after Dorothy Gale's first visit and see what has become of the Emerald city. Petra a private investigator, Emerald City Confidential, is hired to find a man named "Anzel" on a simple
missing persons case. But it turns out that nothing is simple about this case and Petra will end up on a whirlwind adventure saving Oz and finding her long lost brother William along the way inEmerald City Confidential .... " - Denzel 1
Emerald City Confidential Review - "Emerald City Confidential reminds me a lot of "Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble" and all the other adventure-click games from sites like newgrounds. Emerald City Confidential has great graphic art and coloring. Emerald City Confidential has a great story line and I decided to buy it after playing the trial version." - Freelander
Emerald City Confidential Review - "Emerald City Confidential is one of the most fun games I've played in years. Captivating storyline, good pace, surprises, adventure. There's a new twist around each corner. Emerald City Confidential had very little learning curve, and is based around one of the most popular stories we all know. Emerald City Confidential -- it's a blast!
But there are traps - in the second half of Emerald City Confidential you're caught in an endless loop with the Tin Man until you bring him what he needs, unlike the new conversations with the bartender earlier in the game. Emerald City Confidential is fun to play.
I do love this game. Bravo!" - Dot Dot Dasher
Emerald City Confidential Review - "I had so much fun with Emerald City Confidential, I only wish it could've been longer. You play as Petra the Detective in the Oz-world, and you go around finding clues and solving mysteries. The Emerald City Confidential characters are all very interactive and have different voices and the graphics are fun and interesting. The only qualm I had with Emerald City Confidential was that the voices
sometimes slowed down the game unnecessarily (I ended up clicking through a lot of the voice-overs) and after the game was done, you couldn't do anything at all. I would've also liked more side-quests. That said, Emerald City Confidential is a very creative and fun game that I really enjoyed." - Jupiter
Emerald City Confidential Review - "If you love the "Wizard of Oz" like I do, then you will appreciate this fresh and innovative approach to the story. There are a few games each year that dare to challenge our current gaming conventions, and Emerald City Confidential does so with near flawless grandeur. The story and characters are so well conceived that it could have worked as a movie. Having to read through and decipher so
many layers of dialog is somewhat unorthodox in a PC game, but this time it worked. The story almost worked too well because I never really felt like I was playing a game. I just wanted to grab a soda, bowl of popcorn, and dim the lights. I wouldn't want this format and style for all games, but I certainly wouldn't mind if PlayFirst and Wadjet Eye Games made a few more. Although, it will be hard to top Emerald City Confidential. I'd like to see them do an original story. They had good source
material this time so that was an asset. This was really a brilliant adaptation and it masterfully expanded the "Oz" mythology even further. You don't have to rush with Emerald City Confidential. You can just take your time and enjoy the atmosphere. " - NickyNightliner
